Family Assistance

The veteran would be lost without the support of his or her family and for this reason we at Jordan's Initiative feel a need to support the family when help is needed.  That aid may come in the form of a food gift card, a mortgage payment, help in paying household expenses, or direct monetary aid.  Every request is carefully considered by us and quickly acted upon.

Community Spirit Award

The Jordan's Initiative Community Spirit Award is presented yearly to outstanding members of Pierson High School grades 9-12 who have distinguished themselves with their selfless acts, hard work, volunteerism, initiative, and community and familial support. Congratulations to recipients: 9th Grade-Cassandra Spencer, 10th Grade-Colleen Samot, 11th Grade-Aaron Schiavoni, 12th Grade-Linday Cox.  CLICK HERE to see past recipients of the CSA.

Care Package Drives

Jordan's Initiative, along with incredible community support, has managed to send hundreds of boxes of food, toiletries, medicine, etc... to our troops who are deployed in Iraq and Afghanistan.  This program is ongoing throughout the year thanks to the goodwill of our local merchants and supportive citizens of eastern Long Island.  Thank you to all who have provided items for shipment and to the numerous groups and merchants who have helped us out in the past.

Charitable Support

Our main objective as a foundation is to provide support to our troops in any way that we can.  There are many individual charitable organizations who are in need of assistance and are set up to handle specific issues within the veteran community.  Through our own charitable works we have identified some of these organizations that we feel are worthy and we try to offer funding as needed.  Foundations such as Wounded Warrior ProjectHope For The Warriors, and Building Homes for Heroes are just a few of the organizations that Jordan's Initiative supports.

Wheels To Freedom

Wheels to freedom is one of our newest programs.  Jordan's Initiative provides a physically challenged warrior athlete with a custom designed adaptive bicycle setup to meet his or her specific needs.  We feel that providing the athlete with state-of-the-art tools will help speed their recovery and ease their reintegration and transition into a healthy life.  To meet the 2010 recipient of a custom made Freedom Ryder handcycle, Sgt Mark Smith USMC, please CLICK HERE.
